The Iris Pearl
Violet, and then blue, and then bronze. It depends entirely on where you are standing.
Twelve millimetres of Edison pearl, round, set in hallmarked platinum. Violet, and unwilling to stay that way.
Deep violet across the body, with blue rising at the crown and a warm bronze gathering where the light turns away. The nacre is thick and the lustre almost a mirror. It shifts as the hand moves, and shifts again under a different lamp. It is an Edison — a cultured freshwater pearl, round, and at twelve millimetres large enough to carry a colour this strong.
The violet is not the shell's own. It was given to the pearl deliberately, in the same spirit as every stone in this collection: made rather than waited for.
It is the piece people will ask about. Worth knowing before you wear it.
The setting is the platinum sweep the cabinet is built on, opened at the top and holding the pearl at two points. Cool white metal against violet, so the platinum stays silver and the colour does all the talking. It is made in recrafted eighteen-carat gold as well, for a warmer reading of the same line.
For the person who has never once chosen the safe one.
Each ring is made individually in Britain, sized to the wearer, and assessed by a jeweller qualified through the Gemological Institute of America and the Gemmological Association of Great Britain. Authentication and valuation documentation are included as standard.
