The Luna Pearl
A mirror lustre is exactly what it sounds like. Look into it and something looks back.
Twelve millimetres of Australian white South Sea pearl, round, set in hallmarked platinum. The classic one, at scale.
The white South Sea comes from the silver-lipped oyster of Australia, the largest pearl oyster there is. White through to silver, with rose and cream moving beneath the surface. The nacre is very thick and the lustre very high — certified Aurora, Phoenix grade, by the Pearl Science Laboratory in Tokyo.
The certificate says Aurora. The hand says it before you read it.
The setting is the platinum sweep the cabinet is built on, opened at the top and holding the pearl at two points. White against white, so the eye reads shape rather than contrast — the curve of the shank and the curve of the pearl, one continuing the other. It is made in recrafted eighteen-carat gold as well, for a warmer reading of the same line.
For the person who came looking for exactly this.
